Hanoi, Vietnam / Toyooka, Japan,
Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the release of new additions to its EDIFICE line of high performance sports chronographs that combine dynamic design with advanced technology. The four new EQS-600 models are solar powered chronographs featuring 3D inset dials.

Under the concept of "Speed and Intelligence", the EDIFICE brand evokes the sense of velocity found in motorsports, while offering diverse functions made possible by cutting-edge electronics technology.

The new EQS-600 watches are solar powered, and they feature a stopwatch that can measure up to 30 minutes in one second increments. The inset dial in the six o'clock position serves as a battery level indicator for added convenience.

The watches also feature three-dimensional inset dials. Utilizing proprietary molding technology developed by Yamagata Casio in Japan, the inset dials are integrated with the 3D watch face, producing a dynamic look unique to EDIFICE.

The dial accent lines of red, blue or gold set off a design that evokes an advanced image of high velocity. The same accent colors are used for the second hand, for greater design impact and readability.

Jennifer Lopez is all set to take her fans on a fun ride with her new song now, "Ni Tu Ni Yo".

The song seems to be a creation, inspired by Lopez's personal love life.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lopez gave a treat to her fans with the release of her much awaited Spanish single, "Ni Tu Ni Yo".

The song features the Cuban Reggaeton group, Gente de Zona. The Spanish title 'Ni Tu Ni Yo' means, 'Not You, Not Me', which according to Lopez signifies the true meaning of love with its unexpected arrival in a person's life, "It's one of those things that when love comes, it just comes, it doesn't announce itself, and then it just takes over".

However, the question remains, is this song inspired by J. Lo's relationship with her ex-husband Marc Anthony or this song is an inspiration from her present love life, which she shares with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez?

Soon after the release, the song was hitting the billboard charts. Showing immense gratitude, the World of Dance judge thanked her fans and posted on Instagram, "Sooo happy you guys love the song as much as I do!!"
The music video for the upbeat summer smash single will be released on Telemundo on July 10; though, the track is available on streaming services.

Lopez also tweeted, "Are you dancing to #NiTuNiYo?!? Tell me about it!" Although, the song received positive response on social media and elsewhere, but the performance created a little disappointment among the fans, as J. Lo's American flag outfit seemed objectionable to few.

Earlier this year, 'I ain't your mama' star released her first Spanish single "Mirate" at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in April. " Ni Tu Ni Yo" her second Spanish jam is expected to be a bigger hit!

India has declared itself free from highly pathogenic Avian Influenza (H5N1 and H5N8) after surveillance in the states showed no evidence of its presence, officials said on Thursday. "Surveillance was carried out throughout the country and around the areas of the outbreaks since completion of the operation (including culling, disinfection and clean-up), which showed no evidence of presence of Avian Influenza Virus," a Union Agriculture Ministry release said.
The Ministry said India had reported outbreaks of the influenza at various epicentres in Delhi, Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, Rajpura in Punjab, Hissar in Haryana, Bellary in Karnataka, Allappuzha and Kottayam in Kerala, Ahmedabad in Gujarat, Daman and Khordha, and Angul in Odisha between October 2016 and February 2017.

These outbreaks were notified to the World Organization for Animal Health and subsequently, control and containment operations were carried out as per the action plan on preparedness, control and containment of the influenza, said the release.

The Indian Railways has replaced bulky, multi-lingual question booklets with online tests for its recruitment process, resulting in a green initiative that has helped saved four lakh trees and 319 crore paper sheets. The three-phase online examination covering preliminary, written and aptitude and typing skill test is a first of its kind for the state-run transporter. Aiming at eliminating the scope for malpractices in its
recruitment process, Railways had conducted the world’s largest online examination at 351 centres for 92 lakh candidates to fill up over 14,000 vacancies in various categories as part of the ambitious recruitment reforms.

Out of the 92 lakh candidates, 2.73 lakh qualified the preliminary exam and were called for online written test for Assistant Station Masters and clerical jobs on January 17-19 this year. Now about 45,000 candidates, qualified for the third and final test, appeared for psychological and typing skill test on June 29 and 30, said a senior Railway Ministry official. Because of the digital transformation, both these tests could be completed in a day each whereas in conventional mode these would have taken about two months time.

The online test has resulted in substantial saving of time and resources while at the same time bringing transparency in the recruitment process.
Earlier, recruitment examinations used to be conducted manually, but the railways had to abandon the manual system and opt for online mode after a few alleged incidents of question paper leak. Describing it as the “largest online examination in the world”, the official said that in order to ensure complete transparency, the railways have introduced the system of showing answer papers online to examinees one week after the
examination. About 14,000 selected candidates would be called for documents verification in September and finally they would be joining duties before Diwali this year.

WASHINGTON
U.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke on Thursday signed an order to hold more lease sales and to speed up approving permits to explore for oil and gas on federal land, a process he said got bogged down under former President Barack Obama.

The order is the latest move by the administration of President Donald Trump to make it easier to drill and mine on federal land, which Zinke said is a source of income for the government.

The Interior Department's Bureau of Land Management is supposed to take 30 days to review applications for permits to drill, but Zinke said the average time for processing in 2016 was 257 days.

"I'm directing the BLM to conduct quarterly lease sales and address these permitting issues," Zinke said in a statement. "We are also looking at opportunities to bring support to our front line offices who are facing the brunt of this workload."

There were 2,802 permit applications pending as of January 31, with three-quarters of them filed in five field offices in Wyoming, Utah, North Dakota and New Mexico.

On a call with reporters, Zinke did not say how long this streamlining process would take.

"This is not going to be done overnight. What we don't want is unintended consequences," he said.
Environmental groups criticized the announcement and said that companies have already leased vast amounts of public lands but have held off on drilling because of record-low oil prices.

"With historically low gas prices, these companies aren't using millions of acres of leases they already have, so there's no reason to hand over even more," said Chris Saeger, executive director of the Western Values Project.

The group pointed to Interior Department data that showed that production on federal land increased by 77 percent between 2008 and 2015.

The Independent Petroleum Association of America, a lobbying group for independent drillers, welcomed the announcement, which came a week after Zinke met with its president, Barry Russell.

"Reinstating quarterly lease sales is vital as independent producers consider future American energy opportunities on federal lands," said Dan Naatz, the group's head of government relations.

SYDNEY
South Australia has picked Tesla to install the world’s largest grid-scale battery, which would be paired with a wind farm provided by France’s Neoen, in a major test of the reliability of large-scale renewable energy use.

South Australia, the fifth-biggest state with a population of 1.7 million, has raced ahead of the rest of the country in turning to wind power. Its shutdown of coal-fired plants has led to outages across the eastern part of the nation, driving up energy prices.

The drawback to South Australia’s heavy reliance on renewables has been an inability to adequately store that energy, leading to vulnerabilities when the wind doesn’t blow.

The project is designed to have a storage capacity of 129 megawatt-hours, which is enough to light up 30,000 homes, a Tesla spokesman told Reuters.

100 days or it’s free

Under the terms of the agreement, Tesla must deliver the 100-MW battery within 100 days of a contract being signed or it’s free, matching a commitment made by Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk in a Twitter post in March.

“There will be a lot of people that will look at this, ‘did they get it done within 100 days? Did it work?’” Musk told reporters in South Australia’s capital city of Adelaide. “We are going to make sure it does.”

The 100-day deadline will begin within a few weeks, a political source said, after a connectivity agreement is reached between South Australia, Telsa, Neoen and the Australian Energy Market Operator.

Musk and a spokesman for South Australia Premier Jay Weatherill declined to reveal the cost of the project.

Musk said a failure to deliver the project in time would cost his company “$50 million or more,” without elaborating.

Lithium ready

The battery, designed to provide emergency back-up power if a shortfall in energy is predicted, will be built on site in South Australia, a spokesman for the state government said.

Tesla said in a statement that upon completion by December 2017, the system would be the largest lithium-ion battery storage project in the world, overtaking an 80 megawatt-hour power station at Mira Loma in Ontario, Calif., also built using Tesla batteries.

The neighboring state of Victoria is also seeking 100 megawatt-hour battery capacity, to be installed by January.

Lithium-ion batteries have been in widespread use since about 1991, but mostly on a small scale, such as in laptops and cell phones.

A typical lithium-ion battery can store 150 watt-hours of electricity in 1 kilogram of battery, representing more than double the capacity of nickel batteries.

Its proponents have been pushing to use lithium batteries on a grander scale.

“For lithium technology to take off on a global scale, they clearly need the storage capacity to make sure renewables can deliver 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Adrian Griffin, a geologist who specializes in lithium extraction.

Dozens of companies from 10 countries, including privately owned Lyon Group, working with U.S. power company AES Corp, had expressed interest in the South Australian project.

Nashville, Tennessee
The first time a new country songwriter named Kacey Musgraves saw one of her songwriting heroes, John Prine, she had an unusual proposition when she approached.

"I said, 'Hey, my name is Kacey and I am a really big fan. I don't want to offend you or anything, but is there any way you might want to burn one with me?''' Musgraves recalled saying after one of his shows in Nashville, Tennessee.

Musgraves, who would later go on to win two Grammy Awards for her 2013 major label debut album, was hoping to fulfill a fantasy of smoking a joint with Prine. It was also the premise of an unreleased song she had written that somehow ended up on Prine's desk.

Prine, who has survived a couple of bouts of cancer, politely declined.

"He says, 'Well, I don't do that anymore, but if I did, I would with you,''' Musgraves, who is now 28, recalled.

This 70-year-old former mailman from Chicago is the hippest writer in Nashville and still in demand. Prine has become an affable songwriting guru for many of Nashville's talented young artists, including country rebel Sturgill Simpson, Americana darlings Jason Isbell and his wife, Amanda Shires, and rocker Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys.

All those artists have lined up to open for Prine, when they are easily selling out their own venues as headliners.

"I have met some really great people in the last five years that it's easy to see that music in general is in good hands,'' Prine said in an interview from his office, which is decorated year round with Christmas lights and a white Christmas tree.

Prine published his first book in April, a songbook called "Beyond Words,'' which features guitar chords, family photos, handwritten or typed lyrics with his editing marks and witty musings alongside some of his most well-known songs, from "Sam Stone,'' "Angel from Montgomery,'' "Paradise,'' and "Hello in There.''

Prine's reinvigorated career came after neck cancer in the late '90s left him with a much lower and grittier voice. After his recovery, he just moved his songs to lower key.

"Some of my oldest songs that I used to perform every night became brand spanking new just because I changed the key,'' Prine said.

He started his own record label Oh Boy in Nashville in the early '80s, which sold his CDs by direct mail to fans. He enjoys his independence from major labels, even if it has meant fewer sales. He says his only advice to young songwriters is don't give up their publishing rights in a record deal.

"I am not a big one for advice,'' Prine said. "I will tell them stories about things I have failed at or places I have stumbled and hope they take it as a parable. And maybe apply it to themselves and maybe not.''

Auerbach and Prine wrote several songs together, including the title track for Auerbach's new solo album, "Waiting On a Song.''

"It was like having a conversation really,'' the 38-year-old singer said of writing with Prine. ``And I think for me, that's what John does so well with his music. It's not over your head. He uses simple language to convey big meaning.''

The Grammy-winner has taken on heavy topics including coal mining on Appalachia, the treatment of Vietnam veterans and the loneliness of growing old, and earned praises from Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt and Kris Kristofferson, who helped Prine get his first record deal. But he also likes to write with humor, as evidenced by another popular duet with Iris Dement "In Spite of Ourselves,'' that contains some of his best one-liners about love and marriage.

"I think John is very youthful at heart,'' Musgraves said. "He's a big kid. So naturally he gets along with people that are younger than him. But also he probably recognizes himself in a lot of the up-and-coming songwriters that respect him.''

Even a trip to the grocery store is an opportunity for aspiring writers to pitch him. "I used to leave Kroger with cassettes in my pockets because people would drop CDs and cassettes because they want John Prine to hear it,'' Prine said.

His last album in 2016 was a collection of classic country duets with artists like Musgraves, Alison Krauss and Miranda Lambert. He hasn't released an album of new songs in 12 years, but his wife and manager, Fiona, and his son, Jody, who runs his label, convinced him it was time again.

He's going back in the studio in July to record new music and he's also been nominated for artist of the year at this year's Americana Honors and Awards show held in September.

"I like the scene in Nashville,'' Prine said. "I am not particularly happy with modern country music, but it's part of a tradition. It will come and it will go, but it will always revert back to what country was before. I can see it coming around again. I am going to stick around Nashville and see what happens.''

Indian-origin Senator Kamala Harris, who has been in the news for the session regarding the Congressional testimony of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, is reportedly on a fund-raising drive for her Democratic colleagues ahead of the United States presidential elections in 2020.

In the first six months of 2017, Harris has raised more than USD 600,000 for a dozen Senate colleagues -- including USD 365,000 from small-dollar online contributions, reports CNN.
According to reports, Sen. Harris has also scheduled a tour later in the year to raise money for Democratic Senate incumbents as well as the challengers for seven Republican-held House seats in California that the party is targeting.

Sen. Harris's extensive campaign outweighs her Senate campaign, with a significant hold on social media. Her campaign also encompasses Facebook advertising after the election to help build that list and raise money.

Recently, she released a widely praised Spotify playlist to celebrate African-American Music Appreciation Month to Blavity, a site that targets black millennials.

Sen. Harris is likely to campaign and raise money for candidates who could benefit from her support -- potentially including Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown -- and to focus on seven House seats in California held by Republicans, but where Hillary Clinton bested Trump in the 2016 election.

The Princess of Themyscira has achieved another milestone.

According to Entertainment Weekly, 'Wonder Woman' has become the highest-grossing film within the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) of films.

Helmed by Patty Jenkins, the movie earned 2.685 million USD from Thursday screenings, bringing its cumulative domestic total at the time to 330.533 million USD, putting it past previous top earner 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'.

Now, with an additional 4.35 million USD on Friday, Wonder Woman's total sits at 334.9 million USD.

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' earned 330.36 million USD domestically throughout its theatrical run.

The movie still has to do a lot to surpass the worldwide total of 'BvS,' which is 873.26 million USD.

With 670.68 million USD worldwide, the movie already surpassed the international numbers for 'Man of Steel' (668.05 million USD) and the domestic total for 'Suicide Squad' (325.1 million USD).

The Congress on Saturday came down heavily on Prime Minster Narendra Modi for remarking that there has been drastic reduction of Indians depositing black money in Swiss Banks after his government took charge, and asked for proper proof on the same.

Congress leader Salman Khurshid said that the Prime Minister was just 'narrating a story' and it was not necessary to believe what he said.

"This is just a story he is just narrating. Whatever speeches that are made by the Prime Minister, the government fails to prove it with facts. We will not believe whatever he says," Khurshid told ANI.

Expressing similar views, another Congress leader Kapil Sibal attacked the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for failing to fulfill its promises on black money.

"On what basis he is saying I don't know, but the promise made by the BJP during elections that every citizen's bank count will be transferred has not taken place so far. Till now we have not retrieved any black money," Sibal told ANI.

Congress leader Anand Sharma instead sought "account of his mis-performance and betrayal of the people by non delivering on the promises the prime mistier made".

Quoting a report by the Swiss Bank, Prime Minister Modi said that there has been a 45 percent drop in the deposit by Indians in foreign accounts, the lowest ever in years.

"Swiss Bank in its report has stated that there has been a 45 percent drop in the deposit by Indians, the lowest ever witnessed in years," said Prime Minister Modi.

He further informed that two years from now, the Swiss Bank in its report will be presenting a consolidated version of real-time data, which will pose a serious issue for those who have been depositing money in accounts abroad.

"Over three lakh registered companies are now under the scanner after the demonetisation drive. In the last 48 hours, one lakh more bogus companies have been sealed, merely by the stroke of a pen", he said adding that this is a result of prioritising patriotism over politics.

With regards to the 'havala trade', Prime Minister Modi also revealed that over 37,000 shell companies have been identified, adding that strict action will be taken against those indulging in money laundering and other such activities.

"A country where a select few loot, such a nation cannot scale new heights. These select few never want the nation to grow. Those who have looted the poor will have to give back what they have looted," the Prime Minister said in his address at the foundation day of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

He added that the Government of India has taken a tough stand against those who have looted the nation.

"There is a ' Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan' and there is a movement to clean the nation from the menace of corruption," Prime Minister Modi said.

The second day of the ongoing nation's first ever mega trade Fair- Textile India 2017 witnessed the signing of 65 MoUs in the textiles sector here today. All the MoUs were signed in the presence of Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani and Union MoS for Textile Ajay Tamta between various domestic and international organisations from industry and government; three of the MoUs signed are G2G MoUs. Addressing mediapersons, the Textiles Minister said that the current age was a golden era for development of textile industry and affirmed the commitment of the government in promoting the sector. Ms Irani hailed Gujarat as the 'best' place for textile industry and said the state government has put focus on skill development.
Speaking on the second day of the mega exhibition- textile India 2017, which was yesterday inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Ms Smriti said presently there was huge potential for this sector in this state however, the state government should be ready for the future challenges. "I congratulate the state government for promoting skill development through negotiations with investors and other organisations," said the Union Textile Minister.
"The textile industry of Gujarat is all set for the global competition," she added. State Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was also present with the Union Minister, said it was under the then CM Modi's regime that the textile industry of the state had started its developmental journey as it was Mr Modi who had launched the state's textile policy in 2012 because of which Gujarat brought a revolutionary change in the sector.
He said that the first challenge of his state was to get a hold in the global textile market. Textile India 2017, which is the nation's first ever mega trade event for the textile sector, has been organised by the Ministry of Textile which is being attended by 1,500 exhibitors, 20,000 participants and 2,500 foreign buyers.
