Huma Quereshi is all set for an International movie with director Gurinder Chadha.

She will be seen in Gurinder's upcoming film 'Partition: 1947.'

In an interview, when Huma was asked about her experience with the 'Bride and Prejudice' director, she said, "She is a strong filmmaker. I love working with strong people because they push you to perform better and give your best. I had always wanted to work and was excited to do so."

Talking about the movie, the 'Badlapur' actress said, "Its a story of India about on partition and thrown light on why it happened. The script is based on documents that were declassified by the British government sometime back."

'Partition: 1947' focuses on the events in the final pre-Independence days, gives glimpses of Lord Mountbatten's swearing in, his conversations with imminent leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Gandhi and Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the romance between two Indians who work closely with the British, and the building tensions in India as the slogan "Hindustan-Pakistan" is repeated.

This directorial venture, a historical drama, is vastly different from Chadha's previous films, which were light-hearted and focused on the culture of the Indian diaspora.

'Partition: 1947' releases on August 18.

Jennifer Lopez is all set to take her fans on a fun ride with her new song now, "Ni Tu Ni Yo".

The song seems to be a creation, inspired by Lopez's personal love life.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lopez gave a treat to her fans with the release of her much awaited Spanish single, "Ni Tu Ni Yo".

The song features the Cuban Reggaeton group, Gente de Zona. The Spanish title 'Ni Tu Ni Yo' means, 'Not You, Not Me', which according to Lopez signifies the true meaning of love with its unexpected arrival in a person's life, "It's one of those things that when love comes, it just comes, it doesn't announce itself, and then it just takes over".

However, the question remains, is this song inspired by J. Lo's relationship with her ex-husband Marc Anthony or this song is an inspiration from her present love life, which she shares with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez?

Soon after the release, the song was hitting the billboard charts. Showing immense gratitude, the World of Dance judge thanked her fans and posted on Instagram, "Sooo happy you guys love the song as much as I do!!"
The music video for the upbeat summer smash single will be released on Telemundo on July 10; though, the track is available on streaming services.

Lopez also tweeted, "Are you dancing to #NiTuNiYo?!? Tell me about it!" Although, the song received positive response on social media and elsewhere, but the performance created a little disappointment among the fans, as J. Lo's American flag outfit seemed objectionable to few.

Earlier this year, 'I ain't your mama' star released her first Spanish single "Mirate" at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in April. " Ni Tu Ni Yo" her second Spanish jam is expected to be a bigger hit!

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' earned 330.36 million USD domestically throughout its theatrical run.

With 670.68 million USD worldwide, the movie already surpassed the international numbers for 'Man of Steel' (668.05 million USD) and the domestic total for 'Suicide Squad' (325.1 million USD).

When the most celebrated host of the nation is on the other side of the table and being asked questions, what sets in, is a fun, entertaining and inquisitive ambience.

This week's episode of most loved chat show ' Famously Filmfare' will take the audiences on a roller-coaster ride of emotions with ace director and the newly turned father of two, Karan Johar as the guest. The episode will also showcase the fatherly and extremely loving side of the House of Talent, Karan Johar.

The director-producer opened up to the host of the show Jitesh Pillai, about how he prepared for his fatherhood, and how the thought of having children daunted upon him. The director said, "A day after my 40th birthday, I just felt I need to be a father. I knew I needed to be emotionally ready. So I went into therapy sessions and psychology discussions about what it is to be a father, what it is to raise a child without a mother and also at a certain age in your life. I was asked if the children are my backup plan for not having a love relationship in your life. I really had to go into my internal self to ask if that's true and the answer was no."

An emotional Karan further said, "When I held them for the first time, I don't think I can describe the feeling. I cannot explain what I felt. I just sat in the chair and held my daughter first, as she is a little more vulnerable medically. I didn't even realize there were tears rolling down my face. That feeling cannot be replaced by any other emotion."

Undeterred by the severe terror threat and the traumatic attack after her concert, Ariana Grande is all set to return to Manchester.

The 23-year-old-singer promised her fans that she will return to Manchester to have a benefit concert to raise money for the victims and their family.

The 'Side to Side' hit-maker took to her Twitter and posted an emotional letter that expressed deep sense of sorrow for those lost and the families who are mourning their loved ones following the "heinous" attack.

Her letter read, "My heart, prayers and deepest condolences are with the victims of the Manchester Attack and their loved ones. There is nothing I or anyone can do to take away the pain you are feeling or to make this better. However, I extend my hand and heart and everything I possibly can give to you and yours, should you want or need my help in any way."

Adding, "I don't want to go the rest of the year without being able to see and hold and uplift my fans. The same way they continue to uplift me. Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder and to live more kindly and generously than we did before. I'll be returning to the incredibly brave city of Manchester to spend time with my fans and to have a benefit concert in honour of and to raise money for the victims and their families."
Along with her full statement vowing to return to Manchester, the singer also tweeted a JustGiving appeal for the victims, which has seen more than 1.7 million GBP donated.
On May 22 a suicide bomber left 22 people dead after an explosion at Ariana's concert at Manchester Arena.
The singer had just left the stage when the terrorist attack happened.

After the attack, the singer tweeted her condolences to those who lost their lives and their families.

She said, "Broken from the bottom of my heart, I am so so sorry. I don't have words."
Presently, the singer has postponed her Dangerous Woman world tour.

British actor Roger Moore, best known for his movie role as James Bond, has died at the age of 89.

"It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our loving father, Sir Roger Moore, has passed away today in Switzerland after a short but brave battle with cancer," his children said in a statement Tuesday. "The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone."
A private funeral will be held in Monaco according to his wishes, they added.

Moore gained international fame for playing famous secret agent James Bond in seven films released between 1973 and 1985, including Live and Let Die and The Spy Who Loved Me. They were based on the books by Ian Fleming.

Moore was also one of the longest serving goodwill ambassadors for the United Nations Children's Fund, visiting projects for children in over 16 countries. He was awarded UNICEF UK's first lifetime achievement award in 2012, which was later named the Roger Moore Lifetime Achievement Award.

"With the passing of Sir Roger Moore, the world has lost one of its great champions for children – and the entire UNICEF family has lost a great friend," UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake said in a statement.

Stars pay tribute
Russell Crowe led the tributes to the actor on Twitter, writing simply: "Roger Moore, loved him."
Michael Ball said: "My dearest uncle Roger has passed on. What a sad, sad day this is. Loved the bones of him. Generous, funny, beautiful and kind."
Mia Farrow wrote: "Few are as kind & giving as was Roger Moore. Loving thoughts with his family & friends," while Boy George added: "RIP Sir Roger Moore. He was the king of cool."
In a statement, fellow Unicef ambassador and actor Ewan McGregor said: "Thank you, Roger, for having championed so tirelessly the rights of all children for the last 26 years.
"You've shown that we all have the power to make a change to the lives of the most vulnerable children."

Lagoo, best known for playing the modern-day Bollywood mother in films such as "Maine Pyar Kiya", "Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!" and "Kal Ho Na Ho", passed away today after suffering a cardiac arrest at a hospital. She was 59.

She is survived by by daughter Mrunmayee, a theatre and film actress as well as theatre director, who performed the last rites at the Oshiwara crematorium here.

Prominent actors like Rishi Kapoor, Kajol, Tanvi Azmi, Shreyas Talpade, Rakesh Bedi, Anang Desai, Raza Murad, Sulbha Arya, Ashoke Pandit, Sai Tamhankar and her "Naamkarann" co-star Sayantani Ghosh were present during the cremation.

Superstar Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao, and actors Renuka Shahane, Sachin Pilgaonkar along with his daughter Shriya visited the actress's residence here.

Born in Mumbai, Lagoo started her career with theatre where she acted in several Marathi plays. She later took it as a full-time profession.

At the age of 30, she worked in Mansoor Khan's film "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak", in which she played the role of Juhi Chawla's mother Kamla Singh.

From Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Govinda and Madhuri Dixit, Lagoo played mother to many of the top actors of the Hindi film industry on the silver screen.

One of her most successful roles was in "Hum Aapke Hai Koun...!", where she played Anupam Kher's wife and Madhuri's mother.

Lagoo was popular for playing spirited characters on TV shows like "Shrimaan Shrimati" and "Tu Tu Main Main".

In an acting career spanning almost four decades, Lagoo appeared in several hit films like "Saajan", "Vaastav, "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", "Hum Saath-Saath Hain", "Deewana Mastana", "Yes Boss" and "Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon".

She was last seen in the television show "Naamkarann", which aired on Star Plus.

Maharashtra's Culture Minister Vinod Tawde described Lagoo as the silver screen's popular mother, while paying tributes to the actress.

In an official statement, Tawde said, "She had played a variety of roles in Marathi and Hindi movies for a long tenure.

"Her role as mother and mother-in-law on silver screen made her popular and today the silver screen has lost the 'popular mother'. Her four-decade-long career has been full of variety of roles on the screen as well as on the stage."

Lagoo was recently felicitated with the V Shantaram Award of the state government for her contribution in the film industry.

KYIV, UKRAINE
Portugal's Salvador Sobral won the Eurovision Song Contest on Saturday with a gentle romantic ballad that challenged the event's decades-long reputation for cheesy, glittery excess.

Sobral sang his Amar Pelos Dois (Love For Both) in a high, clear tenor accompanied by quiet strings and a piano. Unlike the 25 other competitors who performed on a wide stage backed by flashing lights, bursts of flames and other effects, Sobral sang from a small elevated circle in the middle of the crowd, an intimate contrast to others' bombast.

"Music is not fireworks, music is feeling," he said while accepting the award.

Runner-up Kristian Kostov of Bulgaria wasn't short on feeling -- his power-ballad "Beautiful Mess" was awash in melodrama, the singer appearing almost wrung out by romantic turmoil.

Moldova's Sunstroke Project finished a surprising third, with a bouncy, jazzy song called "Hey Mama"' that featured a clever stage routine in which the female backup singers hid their microphones in bridal bouquets.

Francesco Gabbani of Italy had led bookmakers' tallies for most of the days leading up to the final, but he ended up placing sixth even though his act seemed the epitome of Eurovision's cheerfully tacky aesthetics -- singing a driving number about spirituality while accompanied by someone in a gorilla suit.
Eurovision, in its 62nd year, is aimed at apolitical entertainment. But the sweet intentions were soured this year when Russia's participation was scuttled by host Ukraine over the two nations' diplomatic and military conflict.

Russia is one of Eurovision's heavy hitters, tied with Sweden for the most top-five finishes this century. But this year's Russian entrant, Yuliya Samoylova, was blocked from competing by Ukraine because she had toured in Crimea after Russia's 2014 annexation of the peninsula.

In response, Russia's state-owned Channel 1 television is refusing to broadcast the contest, replacing Saturday's final with a screening of the film "Alien."

The Moscow-Kyiv split is a headache for Eurovision's producer, the European Broadcasting Union, which strives mightily to keep pop and politics separate. Overtly political flags and banners are banned, and lyrics are monitored for provocative content.

In 2009, the EBU nixed the Georgian entry "We Don't Wanna Put In," a dig at Russian President Vladimir Putin. The union, however, has been criticized for not barring "1944" last year, allowing Russia-Ukraine tensions to fester.

The acrimony is ironic, since Eurovision was founded in 1956 to bring the recently warring countries of Europe together. It launched a year before the foundation of the European Economic Community, forerunner of the European Union.

From its launch with seven countries, Eurovision has grown to include more than 40, including non-European nations such as Israel and -- somewhat controversially -- far-off Australia.

The contest helped launch the careers of Sweden's ABBA -- victors in 1974 with "Waterloo" -- Canada's Celine Dion, who won for Switzerland in 1988, and Irish high-steppers Riverdance, the halftime entertainment in 1994.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
As a member of the country trio Pistol Annies, singer-songwriter Angaleena Presley often got questions about the lack of women on country radio, which she responded to with a safe sound bite about musical trends being cyclical and being hopeful for change.

But privately, she didn't believe it.

"Every time I would say those things, in my mind I would be going, 'But it's not cyclical. This is 10 years that we've had two or three females anywhere in the Top 10,''' Presley said. "But I was scared just like everybody else. And maybe it all started with the whole Dixie Chicks thing.''

Presley is no longer holding back her opinions as shown on her bracing indictment of the music industry in her new solo album, "Wrangled,'' released last month. Presley follows a wave of outlaw female artists in Nashville, Tennessee — including Nikki Lane, Margo Price, Sunny Sweeney and more — who have built their own brands from the ground up and attracted a more diverse crowd of fans without the help of major label marketing budgets and country radio.

Success in Rebelling

The Kentucky-bred singer said the title song is both a metaphor about the obligations of being a working mother, but also being silenced as a woman in the music industry. ``It was a way to shed my skin of all that business,'' Presley said.

Other female country singers have also found success at rebelling against the music industry, but not always lasting careers. Gretchen Wilson won a Grammy for her catchy No. 1 single, "Redneck Woman,'' and her 2004 debut album, "Here for the Party,'' went multi-platinum. But fame and the industry moved on quickly after that and she left Sony Music after just three albums.

One of highest-selling female bands in America, the Dixie Chicks, were boycotted by country radio stations for speaking against the Iraq War and then President George W. Bush in 2003. Although they recently toured together, they haven't put out an album since 2006.

In 2015, a radio consultant compared women to tomatoes in a salad in an argument that radio stations should play female artists sparingly. Two years later, not much has changed: Only four women had songs on Billboard's year-end country airplay chart in 2016.

"Frankly, there are laws in this country that are supposed to protect us from discrimination for our race and sex and ethnicity,'' Presley said.

Nikki Lane

Originally from South Carolina, singer Nikki Lane found her way to Nashville through both New York and Los Angeles and gave up a steady job to sing country music. A fashion entrepreneur, she runs her own vintage clothing boutique and appears in an ad campaign for the True Religion denim brand.
"It's a trade-off,'' said Lane, who co-produced her album "Highway Queen,'' released in February. "Am I willing to let people call the shots in exchange for being on the radio, or am I willing to live a different life but do what I want?''

Lane's biggest successes have come when she collaborated outside her genre, such as recording with the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach or opening for Social Distortion. She has even crossed over to alternative radio.

"It was like 3,000 40-year-old dudes and a lot of them have their arms crossed,'' Lane said of the Social Distortion tour. "They are summing you up. But now coming out on the road, we got more fans from that trip than we may have gotten doing anything else.''

Jessi Colter

Historically it was men who profited from the outlaw moniker. In the 1970s, Waylon Jennings, already a huge star in country music, grew disillusioned with the Nashville music bureaucracy and wanted to take more control over his production.

"Wanted! The Outlaws,'' featuring Jennings, Willie Nelson, Jennings' wife Jessi Colter and Tompall Glaser became country music's first platinum record in 1976. Many other artists would be attached to the outlaw movement, including Kris Kristofferson, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard, and fans included deadheads, hippies, bikers and avant-garde hipsters.
Colter was one of the few women at the center of the outlaw movement, which she chronicles in her new autobiography titled "An Outlaw and a Lady,'' released last month. Still she said that her husband never really took the label seriously, but understood that it was a turning point for country music.

"It was a time and a place and it will never be again,'' Colter said. "It's been a good marketing thing. But it's really just been overdone and overused.''

Even Presley denounces the tag on her song "Outlaw,'' when she sings that she's not brave because "every fight I've ever fought and rule I've ever broke is out of desperation.''

"I do want to be rich and famous and successful and have gold records all hanging on my walls,'' Presley said. "It's just that I don't fit into that formula for some reason.''

NEW YORK
The color red made a dramatic show Monday night in the grand parade of fashion at the Met Gala, including co-chair Katy Perry's look, as did glittery gold and blue feathers on the back of Blake Lively. But many of the evening's highlights were courtesy of luminaries who channeled honoree Rei Kawakubo, including Rihanna encased in fluttery petal-like pieces by the Japanese designer.
Rihanna gestured to the crowd from the carpet in her Commes des Garcons look with stagey pink on her cheeks. Her look was two pieces and a sliver of stomach peeked out from the freewheeling design.

Perry wore a veiled dress created just for her by John Galliano, while Pharrell's wife, Helen Lasichanh, wore one of Kawakubo's avant-garde, bulbous and armless jumpsuits. Lively's movie star gown with the feathered train was Versace.

While some of the celebs from the worlds of film, TV, fashion, sports and music were inspired by Kawakubo, others made a splash in more classic looks, including Jennifer Lopez in 1950s elegance, a baby blue Valentino gown by Pierpaolo Piccioli.

Perry wore a silver head piece and black accents around the eyes with an embroidered wool coat layered over a red tulle and silk chiffon dress, her sleeves elongated in a nod to Kawakubo, all by Maison Margiela Artisanal.

Music mogul Diddy, meanwhile, laid down on the carpet to watch girlfriend Cassie pose in a black gown with a huge, spikey train she wore with large, glittery ear cuffs. He wore an embellished cape in a spider web design that carried over to his Rick Owens tuxedo.

"It took a half-hour to get ready. We dress like this on the weekends," he joked.

Speaking of the weekend, Selena and her date -The Weeknd - smooched on the carpet in a classic white, delicately embellished gown from Coach designer Stuart Vevers. Madonna went for green camo from Moschino, Tracee Ellis Ross in royal blue Comme des Garcons and Kim Kardashian West - without husband Kanye West - in understated, long-sleeve white from Vivienne Westwood.

Nicki Minaj, in a black bustier romper with a huge black-and-red cape from H&M, is a pro when it comes to arrivals.

"I stood up in the van the whole way,'' she said of her trip to the Met in her larger-than-life ensemble.

Missing from the carpet: Stalwarts Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonce and Lady Gaga.

Serena Williams in green Versace put in her first carpet appearance since announcing her pregnancy. Kylie Jenner was whisked up the stairs in a revealing sheer gold Atelier Versace gown, her platinum locks styled close to her head. Sister Kendall Jenner stunned in a revealing black look covered in 85,000 hand-painted crystals from La Perla Creative Director Julia Haart. It included a wide diagonal slit from shoulder to below the waist and took more than 160 hours of work by 26 craftsmen in five cities, the designer said in a statement.

Lasichanh, her blond hair high on her head, smiled from within her signature Kawakubo suit. Claire Danes also channeled the Japanese designer, whose work is featured in the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute's spring exhibition, "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between.'' The sleeves of Dane's flurry of ruffles in a white blouse extended well beyond her hands, paired with a simple pair of black pants.

Vogue's Anna Wintour kicked off the star-studded gala a bit earlier as one of the evening's co-host. The gala feeds the annual budget of the Costume Institute. Wintour opted for encrusted gold and ostrich feathers from Chanel and said of Kawakubo and her brand: She's a genius. Not only does she think outside of the box, she doesn't acknowledge the box.''

Priyanka Chopra's floor-sweeping trench coat evening gown in camel from Ralph Lauren took up a lot of real estate on the carpet, which is actually blue this year. Gigi Hadid went with the color fawn in a geometric design that was short on one side and longer on the other. Her sister, Bella, dressed in a sexy sheer catsuit by Alexander Wang.

Thom Browne dressed Solange Knowles in a black coat dress, a quilted down-filled puffer with a train and a pair of his ice skate-inspired booties on her feet.

Lilly Collins, her hair in a black, banged crop with dark red lips, paid homage to Kawakubo in a black strapless bodice paired with a high-waisted full skirt in pink, from Giambattista Valli. Zendaya, was just Zendaya, her hair down and red parrots adorning a full, off-the-shoulder ball gown in gold by Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda.

Celine Dion, in a silver bodysuit by Versace paired with high hair sculpture, was the last to walk, praising Kawakubo and saying: "To wear something, to be recognized, the whole thing is overwhelming. It's great to be here.''
