AAI Officers Achieve International Status

NEW DELHI--At Airport Council International (ACI) World Annual General Assembly held in Seoul, Korea . twenty officers from India achieved International Airport Professional (IAP) status. There were 96 participants altogether. The prestigious qualification has bestowed Indian IAPs with the IAP-CoP membership.

With current IAP designations, Airports Authority of India (AAI) has, to its fold, a huge 18 per cent of IAPs globally. Owing to this huge number, these officers are well positioned to make their presence felt in almost all the forums/ committees of ACI and other such multilateral bodies. This will help AAI in achieving cooperation among all segments of the aviation industry and their stakeholders as well as with governments and international organizations. With this designation, the Indian officers can influence international and national legislation, rules, policies, standards and practices based on established policies representing airports’ interests and priorities while maximizing cooperation and mutual assistance among airports.

ACI in partnership with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), ASI and SITA has been running the Global ACI-ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Programme (AMPAP) since March 2007. The course seeks to develop a new generation of airport leaders in all functional areas of the airport business, as they earn the ACI-ICAO International Airport Professional designation.
