When today's world is moving on with the smartphones running on Android and iOS platforms, Reliance Jio plans to launch feature phones with 4G VoLTE technology.
If some reports are to be believed, the 4G feature phones tentatively named 'LYF Easy' are touted to be the cheapest in the world, and may cost between Rs 1000 to Rs 1500. However, it has not been officially confirmed by the company.
The LYF Easy 4G feature phones will be launched in the first week of January 2017, instantaneously after the end of the Jio Welcome Offer which ends by 31 December.
It seems like, Jio will bring these feature phones in order to acquire some market share in feature phone segment in the country as Indian brands like Micromax and Intex are still in the field of making feature phones. It is also to be noted down that currently, feature phones have a 56% market share.
It is expected that 4G VoLTE enabled feature phones will come with Spreadtrum 9820 processor
