Jitendra Singh addresses the Regional Conference on Innovations in Citizen Centric Services Delivery

Jitendra Singh has emphasized upon the need for taking forward the path-breaking citizen-centric, administrative reforms undertaken by the Union Government for the people by all the states. Addressing the Valedictory Session of the two-day Regional Conference in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on ‘Innovations in Citizen Centric Services Delivery’ organized by Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Government of India, he appealed to the states to strictly follow the guidelines and reforms made by the Department. He also asked the states to emulate the best practices of difference states.

Dr. Singh said that one of the reforms undertaken on the instructions of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was the abolition of interviews for junior posts. He said that the Department followed those instructions within three months of the announcement. 

This move has provided a level-playing field to all candidates of the lowest strata of the society. He urged the states to increase the threshold receptivity of citizens for ensuring success of the reforms, as the citizens have to be made ready to used the services.

Dr. Jitendra Singh also mentioned about the process of simplification being done by the Department, of various applications forms such as pension, passport etc. He said that the Department is following strictly the principal of ‘Minimum Government and Maximum Governance’.

Shri Kali Charan Saraf, the Health Minister of the Government of Rajasthan mentioned about the innovations being made by the State Government to provide good governance to the people. He said that the ‘Bhamashah Yojna’ has become a strong medium of financial inclusion, women empowerment and improving citizen-centric services in the state.

Shri C. Viswanath, Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, Government of India said that the states participating in the two-day Regional Conference shared the Citizen Centric Innovations made by them in various fields ranging from education, financial inclusion grievance-redressal, forest management and others. 

This Conference at Jaipur was an effort to create a common platform to share experiences in the formulation and implementation of best practices in Citizen Centric Governance, improved public service delivery through e-Governance, transparent, accountable, citizen-friendly and effective administration. Delegates from 24 States/UTs of Northern, Southern, Western and Central Region participated in the conference.
