Two-day Regional Conference on ‘Innovations in Citizen Centric Services Delivery’ organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Government of India began today in Jaipur.
Inaugurating the Conference C. Viswanath, Secretary, DARPG said that there is a need to bring about disruptive innovations in the government sector to ensure more impact of services delivery in the mechanism to the people.
He said that innovations come from challenges and challenges throw opportunities and due to these opportunities there is a lot of scope for innovation in the Government Sector. Viswanath said that government needs to transform and make progress at a fast pace to bring about total change in the system.
He further said that various state governments have done tremendous work in various sectors to provide more and more benefits to the people. He hoped that the conference will enable sharing of the good work done by various governments to transform service delivery mechanism.
Speaking on the occasion O.P. Meena, Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan said that the state has done pioneering work in various sectors of services delivery to people. Citing the example of Bhamashah Yojna, Meena said a large number of people have benefitted from Bhamashah cards and this scheme has also brought about women empowerment as card is made in the name of lady of the household. Such innovations bring about more effective governance.
On the first day, three technical sessions were held on: Bhamashah Yojana (Government of Rajasthan), and e-Lok Sewa Kendra (Government of Chhattisgarh). This was followed by presentations on: CM Office Real-Time Executive (Core) Dash Board (Government of Andhra Pradesh); e-Innovations- an Iterative Journey (Government of Karnataka); Disaster Management (Government of Tamil Nadu); Consolidation of Departments- Taking Registration nearer to people, Transport Wallet (Government of Telangana); Prerna: Learning Outcomes (Government of Himachal Pradesh); Sewa Kendras (Government of Punjab); CM Window - A Public Grievance Redressal System (Government of Haryana) and Sewa Setu and Chintan Shivir (Government of Gujarat).
This Conference is an effort to create a common platform to share experiences in the formulation and implementation of best practices in Citizen Centric Governance, improved Public Service Delivery through e-Governance, transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly effective administration. Delegates from 23 States/UTs of Northern, Southern, Western and Central Region are participating in the conference.
The Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (I/C), Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh will address the Valedictory session tomorrow.
