True Grit' star Hailee Steinfeld is all geared up to be a part of the war of the machines.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Steinfeld is in negotiations to star in Paramount's 'Transformers' spin-off titled 'Bumblebee.'
Plot details are still unknown, but it is known that Steinfeld will play a tomboy who also holds a job as a mechanic after school.
Travis Knight, previously known for directing stop-motion picture 'Kubo and the Two Strings,' is helming the project, while Christina Hodson ('Shut In') wrote the script.
The movie project is the first spin-off in the Transformers Cinematic Universe that will include prequels and offshoots from a line of movies that have generated over 3.7 billion USD worldwide.
' Bumblebee' is the yellow and black striped Autobot that appears as one of the main characters in the Transformers film series.
The movie is slated for a June 8, 2018 release.
On a related note, the fifth movie of the ' Transformers' franchise ' The Last Knight,' which stars Mark Wahlberg, Isabella Moner and Josh Duhamel in important roles, is all set to hit the theatres on June 23.
